Intensive Care Medicine
In my capacity as Local Faculty Group Lead for Intensive Care Medicine, I would like to welcome you to East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. We are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, serving a local population of around 759,000 people.
We offer:
Excellent training opportunities on all three Intensive Care units on our main sites: Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital - Margate, Kent & Canterbury Hospital and The William Harvey Hospital - Ashford.
Core and Speciality training modules in Intensive Care in the 3 main hospitals, with an active and engaged group of consultants, clinical and educational supervisors.
Experience in management of a broad range of critically ill patients including experience in various procedures like percutaneous tracheostomies, chest drain insertion, PICC line insertion etc.
Opportunity to participate in Research and Audit projects with an emphasis on contributing to improvement in patient safety and management and the opportunity to present and publish nationally and internationally.
We are also well supported by the Medical Education Department with weekly protected teaching mapped to the curriculum, a weekly journal club and divisional audit days.
