Foundation year ENT student wins UK prize for 2018
Congratulations to Chang Woo Lee, winner of the ENT UK Undergraduate Prize 2018. The essay question answered was “What can ENT UK do to improve care in the developing world?”
Chang, F1 at EKHUFT, was inspired to enter because he believed the prize offered him the opportunity to learn more about ENT and global health.
When asked about his win, Chang said: “It feels surreal. It feels really nice to find out that other people too have enjoyed reading my essay.”
Chang aspires to become an ENT surgeon after falling in love with the specialty. He said: “Every ENT surgeon I have met so far has been incredibly nice and inspiring. I wish to be the same in the future.” He acknowledges that it will be a long and difficult journey and has great hopes that he will fulfil his dream.
Chang ended his interview adding: “This win has given me some confidence, and is good encouragement for me to try other things in the future, no matter how difficult it looks.”
