Testimonials

Here's a selection of comments from our past and present students.

LTC - I just wanted to write to thank you for all of your efforts during our recent LTC rotation. The block was excellently organised with a wide range of clinical exposure and plenty of fascinating teaching. Often on our rotations our consultants' take a 'hands off' approach which results in lots of time stood on ward rounds with little teaching being delivered. Your interest and energy in teaching us at every opportunity made the block very interesting and was an invaluable learning opportunity.

Thank you again for all your work and all the best for the future.

Paediatrics - This placement was very organised with lots of opportunity for extra clinics. Dr Stanek made sure that we were involved as team members rather than being treated as medical students. So far this has been my favourite placement and I would definitely recommend to other medical students!

Paediatrics - Very well run and delivered placement. I have learnt a lot here and been inspired by my firm head and his team. Everyone has been friendly and offered their time over and above what is expected. Alex organised all well and in a timely manner and was always available should I need anything. Thanks QEQM!

Paediatrics - Doctors very approachable and able to help and teach Administration (Alexandria Ashby) was superb!

Acute Care - Excellent placement, with almost too many opportunities for learning!

EM CC - Really enjoyed this placement overall, very hands on, lots of learning opportunities. Would really recommend this placement at this site to other students.

LTC - I hope you are keeping well. I would like to thank you for a superb rotation, I thoroughly enjoyed it and feel like I gained a lot from yourself and your team. Everyone was very helpful and eager to teach us and to get us involved. It has been my favourite rotation of my medical education thus far. It has been a real pleasure, and I wish you all the best and hope that our paths cross again in the future!

Paediatrics - This rotation was the first placement where I have felt that I was completely part of the medical team, we were included in every ward round and every activity in the ward, including departmental teaching and departmental simulation. We got a lot of exposure to patients with many different common illnesses and the doctors on the ward were always keen to talk through the cases with us after we had clerked the patients. we got a lot of small group teaching and chance for 1 on 1 teaching as there were so few medical students!

Paediatrics - lots of teaching with enthusiastic teachers, Dr Stanek and Alex Ashby were brilliant, made sure everything ran smoothly and very helpful and accessible, children running around the ward a day or so after being ill.

Paediatrics - Dr Jan Stanek - best firmhead I have ever had at KCL! Dr Ahmed kamal - went out of his way to make us feel part of the team while teaching us on the wards Dr ElHussein Rfidah - interactive teaching and case-based discussions made difficult topics like haematological malignancies much easier to understand.

LTC - Very well organised- Alex Ashby is fantastic at co-ordinating our timetable and communicating with us. The staff are so welcoming and I really felt like a part of the team. Virtual on-call and other clinical skills sessions were super useful.
