Child Health - Dr Peter Christian
"I am the site lead for General Paediatrics and the trust wide clinical lead for Paediatric Diabetes. I have been a Paediatric consultant with interst in Diabetes since 2017 and before that completed ST training in KSS. I am trained as a supervisor for Kings College London medical students, having acted as an educational, clinical and QIP supervisor within the last few years. I also act as a clinical and educational supervisor for junior doctors. I have completed an MSc level module in education as part of my MSc in Diabetes best practice, and I am the simulation lead for Paediatrics at William Harvey Hospital. I also have an interest in research; I am the PI for Address 2 (diabetes registry study) in the trust and I am the CI for the 'Frequent Resuscitation Skills Study' which is a home grown study running with our Paediatric staff."
"We can offer experience in General Paediatrics through Pauda Ward and hte associated outpatient clinics. Time can be spent with the Paediatrics team in the children's assessment unit and Paeds emergency department. This makes ideally suited to offer a comprehensive placement for a Paediatric focused elective. Within child health we can also offer experience on our level 3 neonatal unit, as well as community Paediatric clinics. Specialist clinics (eg Paediatric diabetes) are also available. Therefore you will have the opportunity to see a wide range of Paediatric conditions and their management. You will be able to learn from a variety of consultants and junior doctors, also from the wider MDT including nurses, Physio, Occupational Therapists, Dieticians, Paediatric Pharmacists and a clinical librarian."
