As a Consultant in Health Care of Elderly People (HCOOP), Dr Kumar Rudra has his work cut out on the best of days and is truly proud of what he and his team do at Margate’s QEQM.

Now, thanks to his hard work as a College Tutor for Postgraduate Medical Education and training in QEQM, he has now been selected by the Royal College of Physicians as one of their speakers for a national conference on College Tutors and their roles.

He’s hoping the event which is being held in Liverpool on 7 September this year, will raise the profile of Margate further.

Dr Rudra said: “I cannot tell you how proud it makes me feel that from a trainee perspective, Margate will be now begin to be looked at as one of the best hospitals to train as a doctor.

He added: “This is a fantastic opportunity for me to 'sell’ our example of excellent practise to the nation.

“Above all, I’m looking forward to working with colleagues to share the lessons from Margate’s success across all our hospitals in east Kent. EKHUFT has a lot of good practice and we can go from strength to strength.”

Juliet Apps, General Manager in UCLTC, said: “Not only is Dr Rudra proud of his achievements I know I speak on behalf of the whole team here when I say how proud we are of him and the work he is doing. He truly is a great ambassador for EKHUFT as a whole and we would like to thank him for that.”
