Two members of the EKHUFT Medical Education team have received an award at the HE KSS Department of Primary Care Education Awards 2017. During the ceremony, held at the Park Crescent Conference Centre in London on 19 July, Di Gosbee and Anita Raines of the Kent and Canterbury Hospital Education Centre were recognised for their invaluable contribution towards GP training. The award was presented by Professor Hilary Diack, Head of Primary and Community Care Education, and Dr Terry Kemple, President of the RCGP.The full text of the testimonial reads:

As a group of GP Training Programme Directors and our GP Trainee Reps we are thrilled that HEE KSS have seen fit to support our opinion that Di and Anita are deserving of this reward and recognition of their invaluable contribution toward the training of our next generation of GPs. It is all very well providing teaching and setting learning objectives but without people who make things work the scheme would soon fall apart. The work of an administrative team is often said to happen in the background but the experience of East Kent trainees and educators is that Di and Anita are very visible and the first point of call for any questions and emerging problems. With a TPD team scattered across East Kent and indeed extending to North London we rely on the two of them to not only ensure the smooth running of our training programme but to be an early warning system for logistical problems and more importantly for those trainees who will need extra support during their scheme. Di and Anita, we are thrilled that you have been recognised by this award. Without us your life would be a lot simpler, without you ours would be impossible, and without each other it would be a lot less fun. We salute you.
